When is the Black Nintendo Wii Coming Out?

Posted in News on August 4th, 2010 by

The Nintendo Wii, one of the best consoles to ever dominate the gaming market, has something new for its loyal fans and users. In May 2010, Wii fans will be able to get a hold of Nintendo’s black Wii. There have already been reports, although unconfirmed, that Nintendo will release information about their newest product on the 4th of May. According to early reports, the Wii black bundle will sell for $200 and will carry additional features like Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort; that is aside from the standard Wii Sports game. Although Nintendo still has to confirm (or deny) this news, a lot of people are already looking forward to getting his own sleek black Nintendo Wii.

Another good news about the Nintendo Wii is something that will help answer a question that has a lot of people thinking. When is the Nintendo Wii coming out? In 2011, Nintendo fans will get the surprise of their lives as a new device described as the next generation when it comes to Nintendo consoles will be introduced. This new game console is expected to be more than just an improvement of Nintendo’s current Wii.

Back in 2008, some industry insiders let it slip that Nintendo’s surprise in 2011 is known as Wii HD. Yes, HD as in high definition. Although quite a number of people have already seen the presentation about this new device, there is nothing definite yet – not even the name.

If you want to start imagining (or even daydreaming) what this new device would be like, try to picture the transition of the Game Boy to Game Boy Advance. For this new device, the same development will be used. Some of the key elements of the game console will remain while its main hardware is beefed up to significant levels. For now, reports say that the name Wii will be retained. Again, there is nothing definite yet; well, except maybe for the fact that this new game console will come out in 2011.

Since the Wii HD embraces high definition technology, it is expected to have more vivid and defined visual properties. There may also be a flash memory solution or a hard drive, which can be used for storage purposes.  In addition to this, the content will be more digital.

Today’s Nintendo Wii has a hardware that is based on IBM and AMD supplied processors. The AMD and IBM agreement continues until December 2011.

Nintendo’s Wii was first released to the public on November 19, 2006. Today, the Wii is the leader in terms of sales when it comes to gaming consoles. It has surpassed the worldwide sales of both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as reported in April 2010.  People most recognize the Wii by way of its wireless controller, or the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote can also be used as a pointing device. It is able to detect movement in three dimensions.

Whether these reports are true or not, we will all find out next year, as 2011 raises its curtains. What’s for sure at the moment is that Nintendo Wii has remained number one in the spotlight, and anything new about this amazing game console will be welcome news.
